Reward Up to $5,000 Offered in Manila Avenue Shooting/Mugging

A reward of up $5,000 is being offered for information leading to the apprehension of the mugger who shot a Rockridge man on Saturday evening as he was walking home with his wife on Manila Avenue after dinner.

A reward up to $5,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the person who shot a Rockridge man in a mugging Saturday night as he walked home from dinner with his wife on Manila Avenue.

The shooting occurred about 9:25 p.m. at Manila and Clifton Street, about a block from College Avenue, as the couple were walking home after dinner at Pasta Pomodoro, according to news reports.

The man was hit in the shoulder and expected to recover, the reports said.

The reward is being offered by Oakland Crimestoppers, Oakland Police Lt. Ersie Joyner told Patch Thursday.

KTVU reported that the man was walking home with his wife from a restaurant at the time, and NBC Bay Area identified the restaurant at Pasta Pomodoro on College.

Anyone with information about the crime can call Oakland police at 510-777-3211. Those who provide information do not have to reveal their identity.

The assailant fled on foot without taking anything, the Oakland Tribune reported
