Volunteer to Help Oakland Students Succeed

BECOME A WRITERCOACH!

Become a writing coach because inside every Oakland student is a writer! WriterCoach Connection brings teams of trained volunteers to Fremont High School and Life Academy of Health and Bioscience to work with students one-on-one on their classroom writing assignments. With the help of a caring adult, students become confident thinkers and writers. The commitment is small- only 1-2 hours, 2-3 weeks per month- but the rewards are great. As one coach says, “It’s the highlight of my week!”

You don’t have to be a writer or teacher to volunteer-WCC’s training will provide the skills and practice you need to be a terrific coach. Training sessions for new coaches are underway and will continue into October. For more information,or to register, please visit www.writercoachconnection.org or call Catherine O’Connell, 510-339-3653.
