UPDATED: Power Outage in Oakland Affecting 2,000 Customers

PG&E said power should be restored around 11 a.m.

PG&E is working to repair a power outage that affected thousands of customers in Oakland this morning, a PG&E spokeswoman said.
 
The outage, which initially affected about 1,952 customers, was reported shortly after 1 a.m., PG&E spokeswoman Jana Morris said. The outage is affecting customers near Jack London Square in an area including Fourth Street, Clay Street and East Eighth Street, she said.
 
As of 6 a.m., power has been restored to all but 88 customers, Morris said. Power is estimated to be restored to the remaining customers by about 11 a.m., she said.

Almost 2,000 customers are without power in Oakland this morning, a PG&E spokeswoman said. The outage, affecting about 1,952 customers, was reported shortly after 1 a.m., PG&E spokeswoman Jana Morris said.
 
The outage is affecting customers in an area including Fourth Street, Clay Street and East Eighth Street, she said. A crew is patrolling in the affected area and there is no estimated time of when power will be restored, Morris said.
 
The cause of the outage is under investigation.
