County Fair Opens Today with Dizzying New Ride

The 101st Alameda County Fair opens today (Wednesday) in Pleasanton and is offering a dizzying new ride for adrenaline junkies of all ages.
Vertigo stands 95 feet tall, while spinning 24 people in an 80 foot-wide circle overlooking the Pleasanton Fair Grounds. The two-minute ride was purchased by Butler Amusements in February of 2013, according to ride supverisor Drew Budimir.
The Alameda County Fair runs from June 19 through July 7 and is closed on Mondays. Opening day of the fair will offer $1 admission and $1 rides along with a performance from musical group, Hinder, at the Safeway Ampitheater.

Admission prices: Apart from special discount prices listed below, you can buy general admission tickets online here for $10 adult, $8 senior, $6 child. Carnival ride packages and reserved seats for horse racing are also available online.

Kids Against Hunger – June 26
The Alameda County Fairgrounds is officially designated by the State Office of Emergency Services as a Regional Disaster Recovery Center and we want you to help pack 100,000+ meals to provide for the safety of the community. A supply of Kids Against Hunger Food will be kept in reserve in the event of widespread emergency locally. At the fair from 11 am to 8 pm, we will be packing 100k + meals and you can "click on Sign Up Now" and reserve your spot to help!
Military Appreciation Day - June 21
FREE Fair Admission for you and a guest with your valid military I.D. Veterans FREE with proof of service.
