Oakland Police Foundation hires executive director

One year ago the Oakland Police Foundation (OPF) Board of Directors began evolving the Foundation’s role in the community and has taken the next step by hiring Barbara Medlin as executive director.

Barbara will leverage her diverse business background and past year of service on the OPF Board to further promote the mission of the Foundation.  Top priorities will include board member recruitment, major gifts development, and community engagement.

As a self-described generalist that thrives in a start-up environment, the position of executive director at OPF fits her well.  She is a PMI-CAPM certified project manager with Fortune 100 experience.  Barbara’s business development expertise will help build the relationships needed to make Oakland a safe community now and for the long-term.

The Foundation’s president, Mike Dennis said, “Barbara has been helping us fundraise and enhance the organization for close to two years as a volunteer.  She is the natural choice for this role.”
