Memorial Service Planned for Piedmont Resident Jill Reese

Services are scheduled Jan. 26 for Jill Fritschi Reese, a Piedmont resident who was reported missing Jan. 14 and found deceased in San Francisco the following day.

A memorial service for Jill Fritschi Reese of Piedmont will be held Sunday, Jan. 26, from 3 to 7 pm. at the Claremont Country Club in Oakland, according to a death notice in the San Francisco Chronicle.

Reese, 72, was a third generation Piedmont resident and a graduate of Piedmont High School and Mills College, Oakland. 

She is survived by her husband Chuck, daughter Alexandra Reese, stepdaughter Clarissa Denton, a granddaughter, sister, brother and nieces and nephews, the Chronicle notice says.

According to her LinkedIn profile, she taught for nearly 39 years in local schools, including Kaiser Elementary School in Oakland, Havens Elementary School in Piedmont and the Head Royce School in Oakland.

She served on the state's California Commission on the Teaching Profession in the 1980s and was a member of several civic organizations, including the Piedmont Garden Club, the profile says.

She died on Wednesday, Jan. 15, a day after she was reported missing in Piedmont, according to the Chronicle notice.
