Crime? In Rockridge?

It's sure nice to read about a good restaurant to visit or who'd be a great yoga instructor, but is anyone interested or concerned about the violent crime occurring in Rockridge? Does anyone know how many armed robberies of pedestrians have occurred? Do we simply nonchalantly take our families out for dinner on College Ave, unaware or uncaring of the real potential for a violent confrontation? Where is the discussion about what we are going to do to help each other keep safe?
