Tire busting curb on Main Street

Wondering if anyone else has had their tire torn and/or rim bent by a protruding curb on North Main across from Target.  This happened to me two weeks ago. After the impact, I "limped" into Fuddrucker's parking lot to call AAA. Two construction workers working on the complex at Main and Ygnacio walked up to me and said they've observed this happening to motorists AT LEAST twice a week. I went to the traffic engineering dept at city hall right after the incident and they were very nice, but said the curbs are built to code. An engineer pulled up an image of the curb on Google Maps and I pointed out all the black rubber marks on that curb. She said "that's bizarre." I'm wondering if anyone else has had this experience (which ultimately cost me $300 for tire and rim) and would like to join me in petitioning city, and perhaps getting reimbursed. Thanks, Jerry Fisher
