CHP Investigating Videos of Cars Doing 'Doughnuts' on I-880

The action took place near the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Complex.

Bay City News Service—The California Highway Patrol is investigating videos that were posted online this weekend of several cars doing "doughnuts" on Interstate Highway 880 in Oakland, a CHP sergeant said.

Multiple videos have been posted on YouTube and Facebook that show the cars driving in circles on northbound I-880 near the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Complex in the middle of the day.

The CHP is looking for any information that might help identify the vehicles or drivers, Sgt. David Chesson said.

Chesson said the videos were posted online Saturday but that it is not yet clear when they were taken.

One of the videos, taken by a passing motorist on the southbound side of I-880, is posted above.

The drivers fled after someone in one of the videos can be heard saying the police were coming. That's the second video posted above.
