Bay City News Service—Police are investigating a shooting ths afternoon, Wednesday, that left a victim dead in North Oakland.
The shooting was reported at 2:27 p.m. outside in the 600 block of 55th Street, according to police.
Officers found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are continuing to investigate this evening.
The shooting is Oakland's second homicide of 2013.
