Quick-Thinking Teller Locks Bank Doors, Foiling Bank Robbery Attempt

The attempted robbery happened at the First Federal Savings & Loan in Rockridge, according to media sources.

Police are looking for two masked men who tried to rob a bank in Oakland's Rockridge neighborhood this morning, a police officer said.

The attempted robbery was reported at 10:13 a.m. in the 6000 block of College Avenue, police Officer J. Moore said.

Moore said that a teller inside the bank saw the masked men as they approached and locked the doors to prevent them from entering. 

Moore said he did not know whether the robbers managed to steal any money.

The Bay Area News Group reported that Crime Stoppers of Oakland is offering a $3,000 reward for information in this case.
