Oakland Teachers OK Contract with 1.5 Percent Raise

Teachers could get another 0.5 percent increase if state education funding comes through.

Oakland teachers have voted to accept a new contract that gives them a 1.5 percent raise and the possibility of another half-percent salary increase that is contingent on state education funding, according to an article in the Oakland Tribune.

A combined 2 percent raise would give the average teacher about $1,000 more a year, the article says.
