Oakland to Celebrate Golden State Warriors at Fan Event Tonight

Event is 6-9 p.m. tonight at Oracle Arena, with appearances by Stephen Curry and other Warriors.

From a City of Oakland press release:

The City of Oakland and County of Alameda will honor the Golden State Warriors for their spectacular season at a fan event Wednesday night in the team’s home at Oracle Arena.

Warriors players tentatively scheduled to appear include Stephen Curry, Harrison Barnes, Carl Landry, Kent Bazemore and Brandon Rush.

Mayor Jean Quan will join thousands of her fellow Warriors fans in celebrating the team as they return home from an incredibly successful season.

“The Warriors have a lot in common with Oakland,” Mayor Quan said. “They’re inspiring, tenacious underdogs who never give up. These amazing players are part of Oakland’s home team, and Oakland fans are the most spirited and loyal in the country!”

The Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Authority will host the event at Oracle Arena, opening the doors on Wednesday night from 6 to 9 p.m. and allowing fans to get together, tour the locker rooms, buy merchandise and reflect back on their favorite 2012-2013 Warriors moments.

This event is free and open to the public and will include player appearances, performances by the Warrior Girls and more. Parking lots will open at 5 p.m.
