Fashion Find: Vintage Dress Worn at JFK's Inauguration

Pretty Penny shares the rich history behind some of its unique pieces.

For $48, you could be the new owner of a vintage dress once worn at John F. Kennedy's 1962 inauguration.

Pretty Penny, located at 5488 College Ave., buys and sells a multitude of vintage and couture fashions — all which carry unique stories within their threads.

They recently acquired a champagne-colored gown two weeks ago from a women who said it once belonged to her mother.

"To have something from the original owner is truly amazing," said manager Ellen Singer.

After asking her more questions about it, they found that the woman also wore it to the former president's inauguration.

"It could have been hand-made," said Singer, showing off the dress' satiny finish and fur sleeves lined with rhinestones. "It would be a great wedding dress."
