The two are also suspects in other robberies in the area, police said.

Police arrested two men on suspicion of armed robbery moments after the Jack in the Box restaurant at 4425 Telegraph Ave. was held up at gunpoint on Saturday,  May 25, an Oakland Police Department spokesperson said.

Both men are Oakland residents and investigators suspect they are responsible for other robberies in the area, said Officer Johnna Watson, the OPD's public information officer.

According to the OPD, officers on crime reduction patrol saw the two men running in the 4400 block of Telegraph about 4:30 p.m., then getting into a vehicle and starting to drive away. At the same time, OPD dispatch advised that the fast food restaurant had just been robbed.

Officers were able to stop and detain the two men, and also recovered a illegally possessed, loaded firearm, police said.
